SmartPass now allows Admin users to bulk upload student passwords. Whether you’re providing students with easy first-time access or updating passwords, you no longer have to contact Support. A Set Passwords link is now available under the Student Accounts page, giving you the autonomy to manage student passwords on your own timeline.
How to Set it Up
Step 1 - Download Template
From your Admin menu, click Accounts.
Click the Integrations button located on the top right of the Accounts table.
Scroll down to the Set Passwords section and click Set up.
Click the Download Template button. The template will download as a csv file.
📣 Raptor SmartPass 📣
As part of ongoing improvements, integrations and account management are handled within Raptor. As a result, the Integrations menu is not available for Raptor SmartPass schools.
From your Admin menu, click Accounts > Students.
Click Set Passwords located at the top of the Student Accounts table.
Click the Download Template button. The template will download as a csv file.
Using the downloaded template, enter student email addresses and their new passwords.
Step 2 - Upload Student Passwords
From the Set Passwords pop-up, click the Choose a File button.
Locate and select your saved csv file.
Lastly, click Upload.
Upload Statuses
If your upload was successful, you will receive a confirmation message indicating how many student passwords were set ot updated.
If your upload was unsuccesful, you will receive a detailed error message. Review the errors and try again.
If your upload was partially successful, you will receive a message indicating how many passwords were successfully and unsuccessfully uploaded.
Note: If you are uploading a file that contains students who already have existing passwords in the system, you will receive an additional message asking for confirmation to overwrite existing passwords.
FAQ
Do I have to use the template provided or can I upload any file that contains student email addresses and passwords? You do not have to use our template but your file must contain only an Email and Password column.
Do I have to upload passwords? No, but consider how tedious it will be to manually create passwords one by one.
If my upload was partially successful, do I have to upload the whole file again with the corrected student passwords or can I only upload what was not successful? You only need to upload / fix passwords that were not correctly updated.
