Disable Passes allows administrators to instantly halt all student movement and alert staff during emergencies or safety-related events that require students to remain in their classrooms.

This feature is only available for Raptor SmartPass schools (Standard and Pro) who do NOT subscribe to Raptor's Emergency Management system.

Admins
Disable Passes
On the admin page, click on Disable Passes in the navigation panel on the left.
A confirmation pop-up will appear with an optional message box to relay additional information to your teachers. Admins can do this later at any time during the emergency.
Click Disable All Passes Now to activate.
💡 Note: Once you activate Disable Passes, all active passes will come to an end, and pass creation will be blocked.
Broadcast Messages
Admins will have access to a Broadcast Messages window which allows them to further relay any communications by sending silent messages to teachers.
Enabling Passes
To end the emergency, press the green Enable Passes button at the top-right.
Teachers
Teachers will receive an overlay notification announcing that pass activity has been disabled. The overlay includes a Latest Messages box where information about the safety-related event is displayed. The initial notification will not always include a message but administrators can later broadcast additional messages as needed. Teachers should remain alert for further communications.
Under Pass Activity Disabled title, teachers can also view who started the emergency, and when it was started.
Once the emergency is over, the overlay is removed and access to the regular teacher view is restored.
Students
Students will be prevented from making passes while an emergency is active. The option to create passes from a kiosk or their own device will be disabled.
If they hover over any of the Create Pass buttons, they will see a message stating Pass actions are temporarily unavailable.
Kiosk View
Disable Passes works the same way in Kiosk Mode. When passes are disabled, an overlay is applied on the kiosk screen, graying out the option to create a pass.
When you hover over Create Pass, a message appears stating Unavailable during an emergency.
Note: Messages broadcasted from Administrators do not show when in Kiosk Mode.
FAQ
Are there any sound notifications when an emergency is started?
Yes. There is a bell notification that will sound once activated but messages / updates moving forward are silent.
Can teachers message back during an emergency?
No. Only admins can send out messages to staff.
I do not see the Disable Passes link in the admin navigation panel.
Check to see if there is a red Emergency button towards the top right of your page. If so, your school is using Raptor's Emergency Management system, which takes place of Disable Passes. Click HERE to learn more about initiating an emergency in Raptor.
If you do NOT see a red Emergency button at the top of your page, contact your Administrator.
