Pausing Your Bell Schedule

This article explains how SmartPass works when bell schedules are paused.

Updated over 4 months ago

Pausing your bell schedule will pause any schedule and class roster data for the day. This is done to prevent incorrect schedule information from being displayed to students and staff. This is a great solution for when you don't have a schedule uploaded that fits your needs.

Rest assured that SmartPass will still operate perfectly, and you do not have to delay using SmartPass or seek an alternative pass solution for the day.

How to Pause Your Schedule

  1. Head to your bell schedule tab and select the date you need to pause.

  2. Click "Change Schedule".

  3. Click on "Other" to signify that you need to pause your schedule.

What Does SmartPass Look Like With A Paused Schedule?

SmartPass will function as intended with your paused schedule. Pausing a schedule simply pauses the use of your class roster and bell schedule times for the day. The only change to pass creation is that students and staff will have to add the origin location in manually.

Overall, the changes your students and staff may note are:

  1. Teachers will not see the class period/time remaining in the class period data.

  2. Teachers will not have a class roster displayed during their class period.

  3. Students and Teachers will have to fill in the origin location for the pass.
