Schedule Rotations

This article describes how to set your schedule to rotate properly throughout your school year.

Updated this week

In this article we will cover how to set your schedule(s) to rotate and repeat based on the type of schedule(s) you have. You will complete this during the final step of building a new schedule, or it can be done by editing a schedule. You need to complete this step even if you only have a single regular schedule.

🗓️ If you are building your schedule for the first time, this is the final step before publishing. If you need to edit your schedule, please click Change Schedule, followed by Edit Schedule.

On the schedule editor tool, head to the Set Calendar step.

To set your rotation and assign your schedule(s) to the calendar click the Repeat Days button in the top right.

Setting Up Your Repeating Days

The way in which you set up your repeating days depends on the type of schedule you have. Follow the steps below for the schedule that best aligns with your school's.

Single Regular Day

Ex. Regular Day Schedule for schools with 1 schedule that is the same each day.

  1. Click on the Repeat Days button in the top-right corner of the calendar

  2. In the Repeat selection field, add your schedule you wish to repeat.

  3. In the start date selection, select the earliest date that the regular day occurs on

  4. In the end date selection, select the last date that the regular day occurs on

  5. Click Save

Click through your School Year calendar to ensure everything is correct. You can adjust any changes to rotations or anomalies in your rotation by clicking the edit button on the day in question on your calendar.

A/B Day and Alternating Day Rotations

Ex. A Day and B Day style alternating schedules

  1. Click on the Repeat Days button in the top-right corner of the calendar

  2. In the Repeat selection field, add your schedules such as A Day and B Day (and/or all other rotations)

  3. Keep Skip Holidays checked so your rotation skips any holidays added

    1. Note: this only uses the holidays you added in the previous step. If you add in holidays later on in the school year (ex., Snow Day), it will not push the rotation

  4. In the start date selection, select the earliest date when the first day type you chose in the Repeat field occurs on

  5. In the end date selection, select the last date that the rotation occurs on

  6. Click Save

Click through your School Year calendar to ensure everything is correct. You can adjust any changes to rotations or anomalies in your rotation by clicking the edit button on the day in question on your calendar.

  4. In the date selection, start on a date that is a Monday

  5. In the end date selection, select the last date that the rotation occurs on

  6. Click Save

Ex: 2 week cycle

  1. Click on the Repeat Days button in the top-right corner of the calendar
