This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your Classlink Integration with SmartPass.
What is Involved to Integrate ClassLink and SmartPass
To integrate ClassLink you will need to complete the next 3 stages:
A ) Set up the SmartPass Roster Server Connection app to your ClassLink Roster Server using OneRoster API.
B ) Incorporate the SmartPass app into your ClassLink Launchpad.
C ) Inform your Customer Success Manager or the Support Team once you have completed stages A and B and wait for the SmartPass Integrations team to import your accounts, you will be notified once it's all completed.
How do you set up the Roster Server application?
Log into the ClassLink launchpad using a ClassLink administrator account
Select Classlink Roster Server
Select Apps on the left-hand side navigation bar
Navigate to the Applications screen and locate the option "Add a new App" situated in the top right-hand corner.
Look for SmartPass Roster Server Connection and click Add.
Establish your data-sharing rules by specifying which student and teacher records require access to SmartPass.
Once completed, please let your SmartPass Customer Success Manager or Support Team know so we can run a resync. This process can take up to 48 hours to be completed
Notes:
Please include your Tenant Name, Tenant ID, and Orgs information (Like Sourced ID, Name, and Identifier) of the schools that need to be linked when you notify your Customer Success Manager or the Support Team.
ClassLink records will be synced in automatically every 24 hours. Alternatively, you can contact our Support Team to run a manual sync anytime (Please view the FAQ at the bottom of the page for more information).
Setting Up the OneClick SSO Application
Once the roster server application has been configured and accounts are synced to your SmartPass school(s). You can enable the ClassLink OneClick integration to allow your students and teachers to sign into SmartPass directly from their Launchpad.
The steps below will guide you on how to accomplish this:
Log in as a ClassLink Administrator to the LaunchPad and navigate to the ClassLink Management Console
Go to Applications > Add & Assign Apps > App Library.
Search for SmartPass and click Add.
The app will now appear in the Add & Assign Applications screen.
Search for SmartPass again
Use the Assign button to make the app available to the students and teachers who should have access to SmartPass. This ClassLink help video explains this step in more detail.
Once completed, we recommend using the Impersonate user feature with a selection of teachers and students who should have access to SmartPass to confirm they can log in successfully.

I have a synced account that is no longer working, what do I do?
We sync each night with ClassLink, so if an account no longer is able to log in that that means your IT team has changed a share rule to exclude this user.
There are 2 options to fix this: confirm with your IT they are sharing this user by having them add them back in, or you can have our support team move this account off the sync and make them an account directly in SmartPass.
When does syncing occur?
The sync between SmartPass and ClassLink happens once every 24 hours at 11:00 PM EST. The sync usually takes a few hours to complete.
