To give teachers better visibility, the Home tab and roster views for accepted classes now highlight student locations and display the status of students assigned to activities occurring at any time during the class period. Previously, teachers had to view individual student profiles to determine student Flex placement.

Activity Status on Home Page / Class Roster View
Students rostered in classes who are also scheduled for activities at the same time are highlighted in the class roster view, displaying their activity location, activity name, and status indicators.
How this information is displayed on the Home page will depend on:
How soon is the activity set to start or if its active
If the teacher is associated with the activity
If the activity is taking place in a location / room in which the teacher is linked (associated)
Depending on these factors, activity attendance may also be taken directly on the Home page. Let's review the various scenarios in which status indicators and activities are displayed on the Home page.
Upcoming Activities
If an activity has not yet started, class rosters will show assigned students grouped by Flex period with an activity start countdown. The activity location and name will also show to the right of each student's name. Students listed on the class roster who are not assigned to an activity will display like normal.
In the example below, Ms. Sanchez has a class in session called Study Hall Section 02. Several of her rostered students are set to attend various activities during this class period. Some will be attending activities during the Flex period Eagle Time (starting in 4 mins) and some during Flex period Enrichment Time (starting in 6 mins).
Four students are set to attend activities in the Flex period Eagle Time:
Quin and Elijah will be attending English Help in the room Anderson.
Sami and Emily will be attending Biology Help in the room Rodriguez.
Three students are set to attend activities in the Flex period Enrichment Time:
Ian and Ava will be attending Open Gym in the Gym.
Alex will be attending Quiet Study in the Library.
📣 Note: No status icons are shown since the attendance window for these activities has not yet opened and attendance cannot yet be taken.
If there is a student rostered in a class that is currently attending an active activity and is located in a different room, they will be detailed in a separate section at the bottom of the class roster view titled In Other Rooms. A line item under their name details their location, activity name, and expected activity end time.
In this example, Taylor is already checked into the Choir Trip activity taking place in the Main Office, expected to end at 10:20am.
Active Activities
When an activity enters its attendance window (10 minutes before start time), the Home page updates accordingly based on whether a teacher is associated or not associated with the activity.
Associated Teacher
Associated Teacher
The activity tile will appear on the teacher’s Home page (10 minutes before start time) if the teacher and any room they are linked to are associated with the activity. It is not enough for the teacher to be associated with the activity - the activity must also be taking place in a room they are linked to before the activity tile is shown on their Home page.
The option to start taking attendance becomes available through a Check In button and a status drop-down menu displayed to the right of each student. The process is the same as when taking attendance on the Activities page in the Activity Session view.
To check a student into the activity, click the Check In button to the right OR click the drop-down menu to view additional status options like:
Present (green icon)
Excused Late (blue icon)
Unexcused Late (orange icon)
Absent (red icon)
Switch Activity (gray text)
📣 Note: The attendance status drop-down menu now includes the ability to switch students between activities. Click here to learn more about switching and removing students from activities.
In another example below, Mr. Campbell has a Chemistry class in session with some rostered students assigned to a couple different activities, one of which he is associated: Victory Volunteers.
On Mr. Campbell's Home page, the Chemistry class is displayed as expected. Since he is associated with the Victory Volunteers activity, which also takes place in a room he is linked to, the activity tile is also displayed on his Home page. Mr. Campbell can make status updates to students directly in the activity tile using the attendance drop-down menu to the far right.
In his Chemistry class roster, students assigned to Victory Volunteers do NOT show under In Other Rooms section since the activity actually takes place in his room. Instead, students attending that activity are highlighted as such showing the Flex period, expected end time, room location, activity name, and their status. In this example, Ava is marked as Present and Alex is marked as Absent.
Students assigned to active activities who have not yet been checked in or been given a status, will show an empty status icon in gray. In the example below, Sophia and Ian are rostered in Mr. Campbell's Chemistry calls but are expected to attend the Student Council activity in the Library but have not yet been checked in.
Non-Associated Teacher
Non-Associated Teacher
Ms. Sanchez is not currently associated with the activity Basketball Stats Analysis but does have a student in her Honors English class that is currently checked in.
Harper Allen is currently checked into the Basketball Stats Analysis activity and is shown in the In Other Rooms section of the class roster view. In this example, there are several students in Ms. Sanchez's Honors English class that are attending various activities in other rooms. Quinn Carter is the only student currently in her room attending class.
