This guide provides users with a list of the browsers and operating systems that work best with SmartPass.

It will also cover the specific requirements for using our app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices, and recommended rules for your firewall settings.

1. Web Application

1. Supported Browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Version 96.0 and above.

  • Firefox: Version 95.0 and above.

  • Microsoft Edge: Version 97.0 and above.

2. Operating Systems:

  • Windows: Version 10 or higher.

  • MacOS: Version 10.X or higher.

  • Linux: Any modern distribution (e.g., Ubuntu 18.04 and above).

  • ChromeOS: Version 66 or higher.

3. Internet Connection:

  • A stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 2 Mbps.

4. Display:

  • Recommended screen resolution of at least 1024x768.

5. JavaScript:

  • JavaScript needs to be enabled in the browser for the application to function properly.

6. Cookies:

  • Cookies should be enabled in the browser.

2. iOS Mobile Application

1. Device Requirements:

  • Any iPhone and iPad models with iOS 15.0 or later.

2. Storage:

  • A minimum of 100mb of free space is required for installation and operation.

3. Internet Connection:

  • A stable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection with a minimum speed of 2 Mbps.

4. App Store:

  • Access to the App Store for initial download and updates.

3. Android Application

  1. Android devices version 4.4 or later

2. Storage:

  1. A minimum of 100 MB of free space is required for installation and operation.

3. Internet Connection:

  • A stable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection with a minimum speed of 2 Mbps.

4. Play Store:

  • Access to the Play Store for initial download and updates.

4. Firewall Settings

Below is the recommended configuration for SmartPass to function.

SmartPass uses WebSockets to enable live updating functionality within the app. You may need to configure your network firewall to allow WebSockets for the app to function.

Many network firewalls inspect HTTP frames and block frames that are not valid. WebSocket connections use the underlying TCP connection to function but send WebSocket frames instead. This may cause your network firewall to block WebSocket frames.

Here are the items that need to be configured:

  • Open TCP port 443

  • Whitelist the following domains:

    • *.smartpass.app, smartpass.app

    • fonts.googleapis.com, storage.googleapis.com

    • js.refiner.io, api.refiner.io

    • embed.lu.ma

    • *.posthog.com

    • *.sentry.io

    • *.aptrinsic.com

    • *.intercom.io, js.intercomcdn.com

    • cloudflareinsights.com , static.cloudflareinsights.com

    • rsms.me

  • Allow WebSocket connections on any of *.smartpass.app, smartpass.app

  • Email delivery

    We recommend that your email provider or email management system authorizes the below domain names to ensure the delivery of emails being sent by SmartPass:

    • *.smartpass.app, smartpass.app

    • *.smartpasshq.com, smartpasshq.com
